Doing Good
It’s been a while since we offered an update, but that does not mean we have not been busy. Over the Summer 2025 season, from April 1 to September 30, we will have cleaned about 161 times. That means that we washed, fluffed and folded about 1,288 bath towels! That’s a whole lot of towels. Of course, some of them didn’t make it through all that use and got stained, which meant they had to be removed from use. In turn, that created a new question for us: what are we going to do with all these towels, washcloths and sheets that are no longer good for use with guests?
We are always keeping an eye on waste, and we even choose eco-friendly soaps and shampoos to leave for our guests when they check in. Of course, it just didn’t sit right with us to be throwing away so many perfect- but imperfect- linens!
Well, we found a solution for that! We are all animal lovers, so we have partnered with South Paw Animal Rescue here on the South Strand! They gladly take any used linens off our hands and put them to good use with the dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that they care for while the animals are waiting to find their fur-ever homes! We love this partnership and welcome you to join in- contact us if you would like to arrange to drop off used linens of your own and we will deliver them to the rescue for you! If donating linens isn’t your thing, please feel free to visit their site and name any other type of donation that you would like!
